Which storage hardware would be recommendable for storing data on pupils in

school and why? I was thinking a hard disk, but i'm pretty sure that there are other storage devices with better capacity?
Are there any specifically designed for school data?
 
A hard disk is huge and can store a large amount of date (pupils) names and stuff, you could get a memory stick but those are like 2 GB of space only whereas a harddrive has 250 GB or space, that's huge, you can store and forget about deleting data for long periods of time
