Which should I buy: the 2008 Mazda 3 i touring value OR 2008 subaru impreza 2.5i sedan?

Hey guys. I'm trying to decide on a car to buy and I've narrowed it down to either the 2008 mazda 3 or 2008 subaru impreza. I like the mazda because it looks nice, handles nice, and seems to be a pretty reliable car. On the other hand, the subaru impreza may not look as nice, but it has all wheel drive and is supposedly safer than the mazda (the mazda scored 3 out of 5 stars for the side crash test, 4 out of five stars for the front crash test while the subaru got 4-5 out of 5 side, and 5 out of 5 front). So, any advice as to which I should ultimately buy? Thanks!!
 
The Suburu is a slightly better car. The AWD is awesome in rain and snow. The Mazda gets better gas mileage. I would get the Suburu if the gas wasn't a huge difference.
 
Both are very reliable cars.
The Subaru is safer because of AWD.
The Mazda is more fun to drive and better on gas and handles better.

I would buy the Mazda.
