Which second hand car would you recommend as a first car for a student?

Hi
I want to buy my first car. Please understand that it has to be a low budget car for a college student. I have narrowed my choice to either a peugeot 206 or a Fiat Punto. Which would you think is most worth going for (with regards to typical maintenance costs etc)?

well depends. . . if you want a nice sport looking car, and you feel like spendin about 4000$ on it. you should get a honda prelude 4th generation, they're nice, thats what i have, this is my second car, and i'm in high skoo..

The Peugeot 206 had many recalls of various things. Read the entire page at the link I have provided.
As for the Punto, look at the other two links I have provided. It is better to decide for yourself when it comes to buying a car...yet it still doesn't hurt to ask fro opinions.
