If you want to film underwater yes but I recommend a Sanyo VPC because you can place a lens on it. Its better to hold. But the Xacti and VPCs are like all HD and all good cameras. But the waterproof one doesn't have the best quality and after you pull it out of the water the sound is wierd but after you dry it off I think its ok. But hope I helped.
