Which of these 14 policies do you support?

1. new Free Trade Agreements (particularly with South Korea, Colorabia, Panama)

2. Patent reform

3. "No Child Left Behind" reform

4. Tort reform (including medical malpractice)

5. eliminating all Tax deductions/credits while lowering all rates

6. the DREAM Act (illegals who were brought here under 16 become citizens with military service or college education)

7. Energy Independence

8. Clean/Renewable Energy (wind, solar, geothermal, etc.) and perhaps designing an Exports-oriented strategy based on Manufacturing these at home

9. fixing, maintaining, upgrading, and building new Infrastructure: roaRAB, bridges, trains, schools, power lines, power plants, water plants, water treatment centers, etc.

10. repealing the "Defense of Marriage Act" (that prevents married same-sex couples from getting the federal benefits that are entitled to married opposite-sex couples)

11. passing the "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" (and other anti-discrimination acts for homosexuals to include housing, adoption, immigration)

12. significant Defense cuts and overseas base closures

13. Entitlement reform

14. Housing reform (perhaps privatization of Fannie/Freddie)

15. None of the above

At first glance I think I support all of those things, but many seem somewhat vague.

For example, "patent reform" could mean a variety of things, and I am unsure what direction it is supposed to imply the reform is going. If no direction is implied, then it's a pretty empty statement to say "I support patent reform."

Well, considering that most of those answers are phrased in such a way that I can read into them anything I want, and in particular, the way I want ... my list was long.

That's only the case for a minority of the options (patent, NCLB, entitlement), I explained most of them.

The direction of the Entitlement reform is implied to tilt towarRAB the Republicans, since most Democrats say its' completely off the table. So assume something that (at the very least) raises the retirement age and adjusts the COLA.

Don't know much about Patent reform to attempt to explain it, just that they're close to a bipartisan agreement to modernize our patent system, to reflect the quicker process of most other countries. So the agreement they're working on now is what it's the poll.

As for NCLB reform, that's the only one you can say it isn't clear, but honestly I don't know the difference between the Democratic and Republican proposals for this.

1. new Free Trade Agreements (particularly with South Korea, Colorabia, Panama) - As long as they have tariRAB to protect domestic product.

2. Patent reform - Definitely neeRAB to be done to protect intellectual property

3. "No Child Left Behind" reform - Not really, Up to the parents to provide for their children

4. Tort reform (including medical malpractice) - Absofuckinglutely

5. eliminating all Tax deductions/credits while lowering all rates - Flat Tax

6. the DREAM Act (illegals who were brought here under 16 become citizens with military service or college education) - No, would overpopulate our colleges and do to them what has been done to public schools.

7. Energy Independence - Yes, by god yes. Drill here drill now, and deregulate (to an extent) nuclear fission, and subsidize fusion and make nuclear more than 20% of our grid, as well as reprocessing

8. Clean/Renewable Energy (wind, solar, geothermal, etc.) and perhaps designing an Exports-oriented strategy based on Manufacturing these at home - Not so much, people don't invest in it because it's too costly, inefficient, and doesn't pay back in a decent amount of time.

9. fixing, maintaining, upgrading, and building new Infrastructure: roaRAB, bridges, trains, schools, power lines, power plants, water plants, water treatment centers, etc. - I think it's necessary, and this is something that the constitution states is the role of the federal government

10. repealing the "Defense of Marriage Act" (that prevents married same-sex couples from getting the federal benefits that are entitled to married opposite-sex couples) - Sure, but repeal marbury v madison at the same time

11. passing the "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" (and other anti-discrimination acts for homosexuals to include housing, adoption, immigration) - sure, people deserve equal rights in the workplace

12. significant Defense cuts and overseas base closures - 100% for. We need to save our money and not be the world's police

13. Entitlement reform - As long as it's to strengthen the restrictions upon those who burden the tax payers so that they cannot just "do as they please" while being on the people's money.

14. Housing reform (perhaps privatization of Fannie/Freddie) - Yes, privatize them, but let them fail if they are gonna fail. Fuck the GM / Chrysler / bank bailout bullshit.

Just not sure what the difference is between Democrats and Republicans on NCLB reform (both basically want to loosen things up, less pressure on the schools), and I haven't heard of any opposition at all to Patent reform.
