I'm trying to get a very white, Taylor Jacobson shade of platinum hair. In example,

In the past I've used Manic Panic Virgin Snow on some pale yellow highlights; it either had no effect or turned the hair an ashy blonde, with a color similar to a dirty white mop. I've heard that when done on really lightened hair, it ends up silvery which I don't want.
I've also tried Wella WhiteLady twice, with no effect on my hair- even when it was really light.
I was thinking of trying Direction's White Toner as I've seen results that I want from it, but the problem is some reviews have said it leaves too much yellow in the hair. Reviews say the silver toner works much better, but again, I don't want a silver.
Right now my hair is Directions Turquoise (a turquoisey-blue); underneath it's a pale yellow although I suspect some streaks are brassier, as they turned green. I was thinking of either using regular bleach or L'Oreal Preference Dream Blonde to remove the color and get my hair as light as possible.
Any ideas? I don't want to go to a salon, because that ruins all the fun ;-) and if my hair falls out, I'll live.
