Hey guys, I'm not sure where I should post this so I hope you don't mind me posting it here. I'm looking for a touchscreen phone that has IM app that you can minimize. Can android/BB/winmo do that? I'm mostly on msn and gtalk to chat, was wondering if there are any phones that support or have apps for these that I can minimize. Say.. if I was chatting and wanted to surf the net for something, would it be possible minimize the chats without going offline (like you do on a computer)? Thanks!
 
Blackberry has been the reigning king for this, but if you want great browsing right out of the box, you cannot go wrong with android, because the only touch blackberry is the storm, and it's not a great device for messaging/IM. I recommend the G1, or hang out for a bit and snag the moto calgary coming out expected before the end of the year (on VZW). The calgary is going to be the best keyboard for messaging (2nd only to the g1) whereas the droid is kind of a small keyboard not meant for the constant IMer. There is the ERIS which is all touch, or the dragon (also known as HTC passion) which probably will come out before the year is over and it is a massive 4.3 inch screen and a super fast processor really designed to handle the multi-tasking- if you don't care about a keyboard these two are worth checking out

The first thing you need to look for is the carrier. Don't pick the phone until you know which carrier has the best signal where you plan to use it, where you live, work, travel and play.
