which one is better... vodafone or o2?

im not sure whether to go on vodafone or o2 pay as you go. all i really want is free text, any more than 100, anything else included i guess will be a bonus. But which one is better, the vodafone £10 freebie with 300text and 500mb internet or o2 simplicity £5 with unlimited text? for both i will have to top up with £10 each month anyway, as vodafone & o2 only accept £10 top ups. also with network in general is better? thankyouuuu x
