Men or women?

Or is god a hermaphrodite?
Wow... I can't believe I got serious answers to this question... I was being a little bit facetious - the idea of a hermaphrodite god made me giggle a little.

From a genetic point of view, women were likely to have been created first as the Y chromosome is shorter than the female X chromosome. Adam though a male name may have been a female name back in those days before the great flood and Eve would have been a male name back in those days before the great flood.

Man and woman are two equal halves. Man was made first woman was made as mans other half.

There seems to be a mistake in your source of reference, it should read:-

'man made god in his own image' ... this also explains the proliferation of gods from time to time throughout history.

neither just man kind, you have to realize most of the first 5 stories from what i have learned are not to be taken to complete truth, they are mainly just stories, though thats just my opinion

None of us are made in God's image. Adam was, but that was before He sinned. After that, if you read in Genesis Chapter five, He had children after "his image".

Once we trust Christ as our Saviour, we are "made" into the likeness of Christ". This is spiritually speaking. The physical part will be transformed at the resurrection of the just.

Men were made first, and since its God the FATHER and God the SON, I'd say he's male. The point of this phrase isn't is God a male though, it's that he's making rational creatures.

You misunderstand what God meant by IMAGE....he wasnt talking about the physical side but the spiritual aspect....and we failed big time.

we are no longer in the image of God, as since Adam and eve fell from grace we inherited a sinfull nature also. and our
God is Holy.

Both men and women were made in God's image, primarily because we have free will, and the capabilities to love and live forever. Adam and Eve were both made in God's Image. Jesus Christ, the New Adam, is God Himself. The Virgin Mary, the New Eve, is the perfect woman. While Adam and Eve lost man's and woman's dignity, respectively, through sin, Jesus and Mary restored man's and woman's dignity, respectively, with their perfect obedience to the Divine Will.

God bless!
Dave
