Both plots involve kids in eighth grade.
1) A new year of school begins. A nerdy bullied kid attempts to get the attention of a girl he as a crush on, only to be cruelly rebuffed. he spirals into a nearly suicidal depression before meeting a new girl at school. Most likely, they do not have a romance, but she is somewhat mentally disturbed and leads the kid on a spree of destructive behavior, starting with shoplifting and culminating with burning a house down.
2) Same kid is bullied by an oranized campain of harrassment tat eventually leads to is suicide. Te story is told from te point of view of another kid, formerly a friend to the victim, who is uilt-ridden after the fact.
