I am looking for a new mountain bike to use both for pretty steep and rocky trail riding, as well as riding to work. Which of these bikes is a better deal? They are all new from local shops.

Specialized Rockhopper, $579.99

2008 Trek 4500, $430

2009 Trek 4500 $500
