Which military branch should I join?

It's been 2 weeks since I started researching about the different military branches and what options I have. I just turned 27 a month ago, female, and have a full-time job, but I've always felt like I haven't done anything challenging in my life; I've always been the type to just go with the flow and give up halfway when it gets boring but I decided that enough is enough, I'm going to join the military and change myself for the better. After looking into my options, I'm inclined to join the Marines. I believe it is the most challenging branch as far as training goes, and I'm all for that. The only downside to this option is that I was hoping I could get a medical-related job since I've got 2 years of college credits and I know the Marines have the Navy Corps taking care of that field. I don't really want to join the Navy though... My second option is the USAF, but since the cut-off age is 27 I don't know if I could still join since I would need a half a year to set all my personal/family/work/apartment stuff straight. Any valid advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

PS.
Whichever branch I join I'm conditioning myself physically (running, martial arts) and mentally (yoga, meditation) for it right now so wish me luck!

The Marines have the least opportunity for women and the lowest quality of life by far. The Marines don't have all of the support services (because the Navy provides as you correctly alluded to) found in the other branches and these areas are where most of the opportunity for women are found.

Try for the Air Force. Trust me on this. They have the best quality of life and take care of their people.

Also don't neglect looking into the Air Force Reserve or Air National Guard. Granted these are only part time but you still get the same training and most of the benefits of active duty.
