Which level road bicycle should I buy?

Im currently driving a 2006 specialized allez with tieagra components, but am unsure of the type of level of bike I should be riding. Im a sophmore in college and did my first collegiate race last spring, i go on some group rides also. I can get good deals on bikes for a limited time and am wondering what price range of bike i should be looking at. Any advice? thanks
