Im in the market for a new LCD TV. These are both on sale at the same store and seem very similar to me. The Panasonic is 42 inches HD with freeview, the Sony is 40 inches HD with Freeview.
Both are reputable brands and although Sony has a few extra features (e.g. more ports and i think a higher contrast ratio) the panasonic is slightly bigger.
The price difference is minimal (i think the sony is $20 NZ Dollars more...like $10US Dollars - next to nothing).
