which is the better bicycle? A new Schwinn Midmoor or a 2007 KHS TC 150?

I would rather have a shop quality bike like the KHS then a department store bike like the Midmoor. If you are riding bike paths for exercise they will be ok. If you are using the bike as a commuter you want a road bike instead they are much faster and efficient. Just make sure the bike is the correct size.

I am looking for a "comfort" bicycle for daily 20 - 30 mile rides. I have been looking at bikes and had decided on a new Schwinn Midmoor, which I can purchase for about $220 plus tax. However, I recently came across an offer to purchase a used (2007) KHS TC-150 for about the same price as the Schwinn. A new KHS TC-150 would run about $450 so I'm wondering if it would be a better value to purchase the KHS, assuming it is in very good condition. I don't know much about bikes so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually - neither bike would be good for a commute of 20 to 30 miles per day. "Comfort" bicycles are for shorter trips (One to Ten miles - tops). But...if I had to choose - the KHS!!! This link...

The Schwinn Midmoor is a discount store & Amazon.com "Bicycle Shaped Object". Even though it uses 700C road tires which will roll easier - it uses inferior parts & only has 24 spokes per wheel. Those wheels & hubs just won't take it very long before needing to be replaced. The KHS uses a full 36 spokes per wheel on what appears to possibly be double walled rims. Much stronger.

Schwinn still makes some fine bikes - sold through REAL bicycle shops only. The ones on Amazon.com & sold through discount stores are pure junk.
