The most important decision to make when considering cell phone service is the network. Will it be there when you need it? The next thing to consider is how are you going to use your phone. Do you NEED or just WANT all those bells & whistles? If you get a smartphone/Blackberry you are likely going to be locked into a contract for 2 years. This will obligate you to the additional costs in the form of a data feature. These data features are usually required and cannot be removed for the life of the contract. Then you have to consider other things about each device. For example: a Blackberry has is own operating system which you will need to learn. The iPhone does not have a replaceable battery, nor can you insure it through the provider. The LX is heavy compared to other devices. So you will have to really consider several things other than the 'cool' factor.
