My thought process here is:
On the one hand, it seems to me to be a simple answer because storing them digitally doesn't require the use of paper and consequently, should be better for the environment. On the other hand, using computers requires quite a substantial amount of electricity (which, because of the way it's produced, is awful for the environment). So, thoughts? Or better yet, any conclusive science?
Details based on Bubuh's response: I see your point, but trees are a renewable resource, too (no, I'm not making a wind / solar v. trees comparison).
At the same time, at the point in which we're already going to be using computers (and computers seem to be the future of communication and just about everything else), it might be beneficial to stick with that plan...
