Hi everyone! Here I am again. This is so frustrating!!! Every morning for days now I awake with major congestion and mucus in my throat!! I don't know if it is coming down or up. Eithor way I have a cough and have to keep clearing it. I am not sure wether to take acid reflux med or my allergy meRAB to control this. I have been to every doctor under the sun. I had the scope done in January and they found nothing.

So what I am trying to figure out is...Do I have a sinus infection? Or do I have silent reflux making this congestion, mucus and cough? I don't know how to treat it.

Does anyone else that has reflux wake up with congestion and mucus? I am just wondering if the congestion can come from reflux in the night and therefore causing all this mucus production? I would love your thoughts.
Thanks! I just want to know which direction to go. I already finished a z pak on antibiotics a week ago. I don't want to have to take more when this might be reflux. Help!

I have a mucus problem too. I saw an ENT that specializes in LPR and she told me that the body produces this mucus in order to protect itself from the acid damage. Her advice was to stay on the PPI 20 mg twice per day and to drink lots and lots of water. The drinking will help thin out the mucus. She also recommended some speech therapy, because the initial damage to the vocal chorRAB can cause you to unconsciouslly change the way you speak, further straining the chorRAB and causing more irritation. I haven't pursued this route yet, as the therapy is quite expensive.
