Which is better suited: Chemistry of Chemical Engineering?

I've been a science lover for all of my life and recently honed my interest on chemistry as it was my best science in high school. I want to one day either work for the Department of Defense, or for the Department of Energy. I love working in the lab and doing hands on experiments, but my mind takes to applying science better than just theorizing about it.
Any opinions?
 
chemistry as a course in college is a bit challenging.. yet i can say that if i finish this course(yes i am a bs chemistry student) it will be really fulfilling..

chemists also work on labs... one misconception about taking a bs chemistry course is that they will be just teaching...
no.. this is really fooling.

well. indeed i already said much...
how about taking it up and be a forensic chemist someday?:)
