Which is better for resale value a large eat in kitchen or tiny kitchen with a small formal dining space?

I bought a condo to live in and fix up. It's my starter home but eventually I'd like a real house. With that in mind the kitchen and adjoining dining room are both really small. The kitchen has virtually no counter space and few cabinets. I've partly solved this problem by turning a closet next to the kitchen into a pantry. But as I progress with projects in the house I keep wondering what to do with those 2 rooms. Do I keep them separate or combine them for a eat in kitchen? What do you think?
