which is better a 2002 Mazda Protege 5 or a 1994 Lexus es300?

i only have the choice between both of them, they are both used unfortunately. the mazda has like 90,000 miles on it and the lexus has like 145,000 miles on it. im kind of thinking more towards the mazda just because its newer with less miles. im planning on fixing the car up with a new paint job, body kit, rims, etc. but i just dont know which to get. i mean a lexus is a lexus and thats cool but its old with a lot of miles on it already. which should i get and can you give me some pictures of both or atleast one of them that has been customized so i can see what it would look like. i keep thinking i should get the mazda but i just dont know. thanks!
 
I prefer the Lexus to the Mazda because all the rotary engines I feel have the tendency to break down much more than a standard engine.This is based more on opinion rater than fact.
