management? I want to become a chef.? I am 17 years old and I've been looking at colleges and career options for awhile now. I really want to become a chef...I have SO much passion for the culinary world and it has been my dream for a very long time. However, culinary school is not in the picture because my parents do not think it is a "practical enough" career choice. I plan on attending culinary school after I graduate from college, and I was wondering which would look better for being hired as a chef... A major in business management and a graduate from culinary school? Or a major in hospitality/restaurant management and a graduate from culinary school? It would be awesome if any Executive or Sous chefs out there would tell me which one they would be more likely to hire! This career is my dream and I don't want to waste my time in school on something that won't land me the job I'm looking for in this industry.
