I've applied and been accepted to both East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and Virginia Tech (VT). It takes less academic work to get into ETSU, but a whole lot more to get into Virginia Tech. I know that getting into VT could be considered an honor, but I don't know if that college is going to me on the path to becoming a Doctor. I know as far as regular academics like business and engineering that Virginia Tech would be better, but let's say that I am going to major in Chemistry as a Pre-Medical student. Which would be the better college then? Just take note that I am a Virginia resident, but ETSU and VT are about the same distance away from my current location; It is about 45 minutes either way. Don't take the cost into account noting that I would pay out of state tuition and receive no Virginia financial aid. Just take their academics into account. I have searched online and I can't find anything comparing them, so I want to know your opinion.
