- from a gameplay standpoint
for instance, for franchise mode, makes you follow the salary cap, makes REASONABLE trades, drafts intelligently, etc.
for gameplay mode, isn't arcade like w/ unrealistic scores, or "sweet spots" where the goalie can always be beat.
someone said that NHL 09 is the current best game. However, i'm on the default settings, w/ difficulty set as high as possible, w/ only 5 minute periods, and I'm averaging over 8 goals per game, while my opponents get no more than 2 goals a game. Many times, I'm winning 11-0, or 12-1, etc. I go high glove side most of the time, and it seems to be pretty successful. My defencemen scored 49 goals in a season. I scored 410 goals as a team. It just has a hollow feeling, because the competition isn't there.
I thought that NHL 08 learned your tendencies and started defending against them. Was this carried over into NHL 09, because it doesn't seem that way.
