Which first line of a book made you aware this was going to be a good read?

Once upon a time, many years ago when our grandfathers were little children - there was a doctor;and his name was Dolittle-John Dolittle, M.D.

This was exciting when you are young, a time of mystery, but just within reach of our grandfathers. :)

i didnt love the book, but the first line made me read it, as it was so shocking but amazing!
