Hi All, I am cycling my 55 US gallon tank (am on week one so far) in preparation for my two fancy goldfish currently in a 16 gallon and I am trying a silent cycling (loads of fast growing easy plants) with fish food and fish waste and seeding with their current gravel, used filter media and a little of their tank water. My Rena XP Filstar 2 had a zeolite pouch in it which I believe removes ammonia-should I actually remove this for the cycling process? No sign of ammonia yet in my readings, very low nitrates no nitrites. Also should I use a carbon sponge in it too as the water is still cloudy...Is it possible I may never get a spike with the seeding and silent cycling? Will I get a spike if I one day remove the zeolite? I'm a bit unclear on all this despite much research, thanks in advance for your help
