I could have sworn that it was from Clint Eastwood's Escape From Alcatraz.
I remember a scene where he's using matches to heat some kind of soup-like substance that goes onto the flame when he is laying on his bed. A guard comes up and says he smells something...and he replies he doesn't smell anything.
In Eastwood's movie...the last sentence does apply and that happens. But he uses it to weld...not heat anything. What movie is this from?
