Which dodge truck do i get?

Ive been into cars and I dont know anything about trucks. I am selling my mustang gt to get a dodge truck. Its time I need a 4 wheel drive truck for winter.

I'm looking to spend under 10K on my truck. It has to be a dodge! The main thing I care about is power. I am going from driving a sports car to a truck and I want the truck to have some decent acceleration...even though it cant compare to my car.
NO DIESEL!!!

So tell me what should I look for. They come in 1500 and 2500. I dont want a 3500. I dont know about a dakota. What size engine should I be looking at?
DO NOT SAY "GET A CUMMINS"!
 
well, if your looking for a lot of acceleration, and you dont want a diesel, i would get an old (1970's through 1980's) W250 with a 318 in it. Trust me, if it is taken care of right that 318 puts out all the power you need.
