Which dirt bike should I buy?

I'm looking to buy a dirt bike. I really like the Yamaha yz250f, but I think its going to be too big in the long run. I am a female, 5'7'', 120 lbs. I have experience with riding sport quads but no long term experience with trail bikes. I think I eventually want to convert it to be street legal, but I do not want an Enduro bike. Any suggestions on any other bike models, makes, or sizes? Any suggestions for a good dealer or used dirt bike site? Preferably I would want something 2003 or newer.
