ok i am having this problem deciding which desktop to get and after a long time i have decided to get the HP Pavilion elite m9100t or the imac. and alot of people said macs are for computer graphics only but when i tried a mac i felt very comfortable with it but also when i tried the hp i felt comfortable so i dont know what to choose. i also dont do graphic work and all that but what i like to do is edit videos and i am quite a pro at that so thats why i want to get the imac but i want the hp alsp for games that dont work on the imac . so to summarize i do a bit of eveything form video editing to word processing to playing games as i said a bit of everything, and finally ( sorry if u got bored) here are the specs :

hp pavilion elite m9100t:

* • Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
* • Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad processor Q6600 (2.4GHz)
* • 2GB DDR2-667MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024)
* • 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT, TV-out, DVI-I, HDMI
* • 802.11 b/g USB W
imac specs :

* 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2GB memory
* 320GB hard drive1
* 8x double-layer SuperDrive
* ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory

Get the HP or better still a DIY PC - i could spec out a better machine than that HP at a cheaper price if you want. Macs are not advisable because a few months down the road you will find out it will not run a lot of programs for work and play that the rest of the world is running and you would have a very expensive white elephant in your home!

the specs of the imac may not be as good as the m1900t but i can assure you the mac is a far superior machine, the main reason being windows tends to freeze up all the time but on os x you very rarley have trouble. so do not get the m1900t as you will regret it!!

Get the iMac - you'll love it.

Any of the new PCs you buy now have Vista installed and that's problematic - Vista has a lot of problems - unhappy users, etc. Vista looks like it's going to turn out to be another ME version, as Microsoft already has it's replacement in the works, scheduled to release next year.

the Mac will work from the minute you plug it in - as far as games go, if I couldn't find one to work on the Mac, I'd get a different game - your editing work will be much easier on the Mac than the PC.

I don't think HP is that bad and it has windows vista so its fast but if you put old software in the HP VISTA it like doesn't reconize it but you can just hit continue its your choice.
