I live in New Zealand and i finished highschool last year, i was accepted into Auckland uni (elam school of fine arts) but i chose to take a year to save up.
Now i am left with dilemma of chosing which school i really want to go to.
I really want to get the highest qualification possible and to learn how to be the best graphic design i can be so i want to go to University but i realize that they offer very broad subjects and i would have to study traditional art aswell but i really want to just learn design and there are a few schools who specifically deal with design alone narrowing it down (eg digital design, web design, animation, media etc) and this is exactly what i want except for the fact that they are all polytechs and i dont really want to do one year level 5 courses i want at least! a bachelor?
confused? yeh so am i?
So my question is: Is it better to do a specific degree at a polytech or Go to university and do a three year course?
oh yea and i was refering to polytechs like natcoll and weltec if you have any comments about that
