Which CSI or CSI: NY episode is this?

I's pretty sure it isn't CSI Miami. Most likely it's NY and early spisode, but I'm quite unsure.

Something that happens in the episode I can remember is this older guy sitting and reading his newspaper and this averge sized brown haired guy hides behind his couch as the older man talks to his wife, I think they are both knifed. That's it, I can't remeber more.

It's been bugging me.
 
I don't know. It sounds familiar to me to, but I can't place it. Your right though, I don't think it was CSI Miami. I would check out the following site, they have a synopsis of every episode aired.
