Hi, I'm 14 and I need a new bat.
I played cricket for a while but then stopped (because my mum disliked the long hours) for two years but now I'm picking it up again.
Because I'm just starting to play cricket again, I'm not really sure of my batting style but I'll give it a go. Ummmm..... well, I'm not a David Warner, I don't smash the ball around. I play mainly square of the wicket but i would really like to start mastering the drive. Normally, when I play at a ball it either goes for fours or singles. Most of my shots are along the ground but my cut shot floats tantalisingly high. I seem to play sweep shots a lot.
I prefer if the bat is light but I can take a slightly heavy bat. I used to play with a (bottom of the range) Puma Stealth. I didn't really like it, it didn't have enough meat and the feel of it wasn't great either.
Also, should I be using senior or junior bats? I'm 166cm tall.
I've used my friends GM before and that felt really good.
Preferably, the price of the bat is max. AUS$150 but if you have more expensive suggestions I'll have a look into it as well.
