Which country in Central America is the best/ safest for an American to live and run a

business? My husband and I are planning to buy some land and a small resort/restaurant to run in Central America where we can offer biking, hiking, and kayaking excursions. We are thinking Costa Rica - but prices seem high. Is Panama a safe place for Americans and is it a desired vacation spot? Any info about any Central American Country would be helpful. Also - if you know of a good place to search for businesses for sale let us know - we've just been looking on craigslist. - THANKS!
 
I watched a tv show about an American couple that bought a little resort in the beach in Roatan, Honduras. It was cheap and the place looked amazing. They contacted a real estate agent in that area and the agent was able to show them 3 different places for sale- you should try that once you pick a spot. Also it would be helpful if you both spoke Spanish or French depending which country you choose. I have a friend moving to Nicaragua and he is fluent in Spanish. I have another friend who just moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina and she is working as a spanish/english translator. She loves it there, maybe look into it but I don't know about the hiking and recreation there.
