Which college should I go to? Ohio State University, Binghamton University, or...

...Rutgers University? I plan to pursue a major of biomedical engineering and possibly a minor in French. My alternative, if I failed at biomedical engineering, was a type of business major.

OHIO STATE I was accepted into the College of Engineering for biomedical engineering. Ohio State is 8 hours away from home. Tuition $28,000.

BINGHAMTON I was accepted into the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences for biomedical engineering and the School of Management Fast-Track MBA Program for a masters in 5 years. Binghamton is 2.5 hours away from home. Tuition $12,000.

RUTGERS I was accepted into the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, the School of Business –
Newark, and the School of Arts and Sciences – New Brunswick. Rutgers is 40 minutes away from home. In-state tuition $9,000.
 
1.) Rutgers-New Brunswick (affordable and an excellent engineering program...unsure about business)
2.) Binghamton (affordable and decent school)
3.) Ohio State (best school all around, but very expensive)
4.) Rutgers-Newark (only school on the list to not be a top 100 school, and it is not a top engineering school)

US News & World Report provides yearly rankings for undergraduate and graduate schools. While the list isn't always perfect, it does provide a very good indication of which schools are good. See first link, then search for each school, to see their undergraduate rankings.

See the 2nd link for engineering program rankings. Ohio State is the only school to make the business rankings, but I think you will find good business programs in any of the first 3 schools on my list.
 
Ohio State has a better reputation than the others, but the education you get there is not three times better than what you will get at Rutgers. It's probably not even 20% better.

If you live 40 minutes away from home you're going to spend too much time away from college and you won't study enough. Need to make kind of a break. 2.5 hours is a reasonable distance. That five-year masters program at Binghamton sounds intriguing.
 
If you weren't accepted to Rutgers' engineering school, I'd go to Binghamton. The cost difference isn't that much and you'll have access to the programs you want. I'm also from around Rutgers (20 min. away) and think it's a great school. I know people who have gone to both (R&B) and most have been happy at both.
 
I am going to osu next year but I am instate so it's only like 10000 for me.. Remember that this is it future and $ shouldn't be the main concern. I am majoring in chemical engineering and I heard that osu biomedical is new so unless your going to do something in that field for the rest of your life I don't recommend going to osu cuz ur gonnna have a huge debt... Go to one of the other colleges bc it will be cheaper then on the future u can come to a bigger college to get another degree
