Charter has installed an Arris modem and a wireless Netgear router to support my need for a
broadband connection for my permanently docked laptop and a phone connection for my
phone/fax. The wireless for which I'm paying a lease fee is unnecessary and doesn't work
in wireless mode anyway (always cabled to the docking station or it doesn't connect). I'd
like to buy a "converge modem" and do away with 2 pieces of leased hardware.
"Converge modem" is what a Charter tech support person told me I needed but I can't
find any such creature by that name.
