Okay so my carrier is Verizon, and as of right now i have the LG EnV touch. i absolutely love this phone and if there werent anything wrong with it i would not be retiring it, but sadly the chemical in the inner screen started going bad, and then of course it fell out of my pocket a few days ago and now both the front touch screen as well as the inner screen are in bad shape. the inner screen i can see maybe a third of it because of all the lines and everything and the front screen has a fat gray line going up and down so its difficult now to use. I have an upgrade coming up on march third of this year, until then i will be using my friends old chocolate 3, which i have that phone as well but the battery will not hold any charge at all unless its plugged in. so sadly i have been faced with the decision of what phone to get next when my upgrade is available.I am not getting a smart phone, my dad pays my bill right now and i don't want to make him pay any more than he already has to because we have 5 phones on our plan so i dont want any sort of smart phone, i was trying to find one exactly like the env touch in terms of it having a touch screen as well as a keyboard but the only phones that verizon offers along those lines do not support video, so in other words you can take pictures but you cant take videos that's how the camera is designed. so i've looked at all the phones verizon has to offer and have been forced to choose between the LG Octane and the Pantech Crux, both are phones i dislike equally for different reasons, the octane i do not like because it has the same issues the env 3's had which are freezing and shutting down. my friend has this phone and has told me this has happened to two of the same phone, and then the Crux is such an awkwardly designed phone and lacks a send and end key as well as a keyboard. I am a very heavy texter so a keyboard is something i would rather have, but i cannot have a phone that is not reliable (octane), but i guess half fortunately the crux does have a virtual keyboard. i nevre liked the virtual keyboard ont he env touch but i guess that doesnt mean i will have a bad experience with the crux. So any way before i ramble on any longer, i'd like to know what everyone thinks about either of these phones and which phone do you recommend more? and if anyone has eithr of these phones maybe explaining whether or not you've experienced any of the problems i listed that both phones have been known to come with...also one other thing i have seen people having problems with, with the crux people have been havng issues with frequently dropped calls as well as the phone not recieving text messages until you shut off the phone and turn it back on, basiclly rebooting it, and then the phone blows up with all the text messages that you've missed...i have and still do have that happen to me with my env touch, but its pretty much only monthly if that, maybe bimonthly if i had not restarted the phone within the time span it takes for that to start happening. has anyone experienced either of these problems with the crux? i apologize for such a long description., just wanted to kind of explain what i'm looking for and what i've heard about each of these phones. thanks so much!
