Which Cell Phone Provider is best? AT&T or Verizon Wireless?

I want to get an iPhone 4. In my area AT&T and Verizon Wireless are both pretty good. T-Mobile isn't very good here. Should I get Verizon Wireless or AT&T? And ... Is there a fee for the mobile hotspot on Verizon? Thanks
