Which car seat do you use for a Mazda 6 hatchback?

We just bought the Safety First Alpha Omega.. which I really love. We attempted to install it last night in our Mazda 6 hatchback... and it seems almost impossible to make it fit in the rear facing position and be comfortable in the front seat... I am very upset with this discovery and now very confused on what to do
