Which Camera: Nikon Coolpix S8000 or Panasonic Lumix TZ8?

Hi, so i need a new camera, i've narrowed it down to these 2 (although all other suggestions are welcome). I need something that has good zoom capabilities and is reasonably compact for hill walking etc. There are slight variances in size, optical zoom, pixel count etc between them but i cant decide, i have had a Nikon for the last few years that has been excellent, even after many nights left in a wet camera case beside a tent lol, so basically, which one should i go for? and is one make better thought of than the other? quality wise
