I have to do a summer reading for my upcoming course in the fall (as well as write 8 journals)

The Things They Carried - Tim O'Brien
Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegut
The Bluest Eye - Toni Morrison
The Bean Trees - Barbara Kingsolver
A Prayer for Owen Meany - John Irving
Has anyone read any of these and would you reccomend it?
