Ok, there are a few makes, styles and models I'm ruling out: I don't like the chopper/cruiser styles based on appearance and ergonomics. At "only" 5'8" I don't feel comfortable with the height of dual sports and their appearance isn't quite what I'm after, either. Many of the BMWs that get recommended are either dual sports or still way too tall for my liking. I pretty much want something that might be classified as a sport tourer with a sporty appearance but pretty much an upright sitting position. I'm not interested in anything heavy like a Gold Wing, for instance. Even a Bandit 1200, for instance, is more than I want I think. Based on research I've done the following bikes seem suitable but I'm open for your suggestions:
Honda: Unfortunately only the CB750 Nighthawk
Kawasaki: 2003/2004 ZZR600 (this specific model is much like the late 80s to mid 90s Ninja 600s and suitable for touring); Ninja 650r; ZR7S
Suzuki: Katana 600 or 750; Bandit 600; GSX650F; MAYBE the SV650 though I'm not really crazy about it
Yamaha: FZ6R is the only thing that I've found
How do you feel about those bikes in terms of fuel economy, maintenance needs, reliability and corrosion resistance?
