Hello,

I am a starter, and would like to know which bike is right for me? From my research, I liked R6 and CBR600RR - they perform good and look good.

I am 6'1 tall and 140lbs if that means anything... yes skinny! lol. Please let me know your thoughts and whats the right move for me.

Is it expensive to maintain a bike? How much for oil change at the shops and what else do I have to take into considiration before purchasing one.

Thank you!

Forget either bike. You will be dead or have to pay a heavy fine/bill. Insurance will rape you hard. Height/weight means nothing for the millionth time in terms of skill. Way too much power for you. A Ninja 250 with a wimpy 250cc engine can go 110mph indicated. I know I have done it with my height of 6'5''. Go on youtube an watch vs videos.

try anSV650 or the ninja 650... these bikes are much more suited to a new rider than the high strung full-on race bikes you listed above... regardless of what bike you end up with take an MSF course...
yes mile for mile owning a sportbike is more expensive than most cars... tires @ roughly $250 rear and 200 front will need to be replaced at a minimun of 5000 miles ( mine just do make it to an oil change) the oilchange if I do it myself runs about $45.. ( I only use synthetic oil) if you buy a bike like the 600RR or the R6 you insurance will be much higher than it would be with the 650cc bikes as they are not considered "race bikes" as far as gas mileage.... I get less than 35 mpg I ride a superhawk... my wifes 250 gets around 65-70....

Go the honda. The honda will have a bigger frame and a higher seat height that will make the bike safer for a beginner.
All bikes cost lots to maintain average $1000 a year

Go with the r6 its easier to maintain and less expensive the cbr600rr is a really nice peace of machine but since its a race replica its engineered to tight tolerances and tight spaces so the maintenance on it would be expensive, I heard just to do a valve adjustment they have to take the engine completely out, that going to be one hell of expensive valve job. So I would go with the r6 or personally I suggest you go with the R6S its a more forgiving and looks just as good and it still has a 123hp engine which is even more then the cbr600rr which only puts out 118hp, But the r6s technology is more simple to work on compared to the cbr600rr. Anyways dude hope this helps. Good Luck.
