Which actors/actresses have been typecast?

I'm not a fan of his but I'd say Russell Crowe since Gladiator, just saw a commercial for some Gladiator-type movie of his coming out soon. My actress would be Jennifer Aniston after the Brad split.

He does it so well though :p

Lisa Kudrow. She IS Phoebe now and probably won't be able to shake that character off no matter how hard she tries (like in The Oposite of Sex).

There are so many big hollywood actors that are typecast, or rather always play the same character. Sometimes it puts me off seeing a film when it has a well known actor in it. I want to see something new, not just the same acting as the dozens of other things I've seen them in.

I find it particularly annoying when they use some American hollywood actor to play, say a Russian or a German- I think they are just using them to pull in big audiences, because they

Jennifer Aniston - She really bores me now and her movies really do not interest me. I urge people to watch The Good Girl. A very serious movie in which she neeRAB to do more of because she was brilliant in that.

Keira Knightley - She neeRAB to move away from costume drama's. She's done them a hell of a lot since the Pirates movies ended. She's is great in them but i would love for her to pop up in a movie that is set in uh i dunno, 2010.

Danny Dyer - Always playing your typical geezer. Although straightheaRAB showed him more sensitive.

Eliza Dushku - Always playing tough strong woman. Look at her roles in Buffy, Bring it on, Wrong turn and Dollhouse.

Pity StraightheaRAB was terrible. Poor Gillian Anderson.

Certain people, like Danny Dyer, I don't mind if they play the same person over and over, I can just watch him for some reason. Same for Owen Wilson, he is another.

Katherine Heigl seems to be playing typical rom com females in her movies which is annoying because she is a fantastic actress who played a great character in a drama show. She even won an emmy. The movies she has done have been good but why she is wasting her time on rom com's when she could be playing a great meaty dramatic role, is beyond me. I hope her roles mature and grow now she has left Grey's. She is wasting her talent. She could potentially be a blonde Julia Roberts - another fine and legendary actress.

Umm.....If I had to name just one it would be;"Leonard Nimoy"...one can only but think of Spock......In fact on reflection the whole cast of the original Star Trek series.

William Shatner carved out a nice little post-trek career - especially in the last decade with "Boston Legal". It's kind of strange that I now think of him as "Denny Crane" instead of Captain Kirk. :D

Orlando Bloom - The cheesy, good looking character who will have some trouble with the girl. I can't think of a film he's been in, which I have seen, where I haven't cringed at how cheese he is.

Jim Carey - The dippy, silly man. He was good in Eternal Sunshine... but most of his roles are playing something silly.

Not sure I agree with you there. Since Gladiator Crowe has been in several films that weren't exactly like Gladiator:

A Beautiful Mind
A Good Year
3:10 To Yuma (as a baddie).
Cinderella Man
American Gangster
Tenderness
State Of Play

And of those that were more action orientated like Master & Commander I still don't think that he was playing a Maximus-like character.

Robin Hood and Gladiator are both Ridley Scott films so if Crowe looks typecast it's more to do with Ridley Scott than anything else.

Having said that I don't think he'll ever play characters like Bud White or the character from The Insider again.
