I am looking for a 1000cc bike that is forgiving enough for a beginner, I have been looking at the R1 and the CBR1000, any suggestions on either of those? Or another bike I should look at? I know the first reply is going to be "Start on a 600". Here is my issue with the 600, I am a pretty big guy (6' 230lbs) and I would feel like I am riding a scooter on a 600, body size not proportionate to bike size. Second I have been told the most people who buy a 600, wish they had gotten the 1000 within a couple months. Am I wrong on either of these assumptions?
