Where would you feel most comfortable getting photos done?

Where would you feel most comfortable getting photos done? A studio in someones house/condo, a loft style studio (typically in a refurbished warehouse space) or in a main street/store front setting? Ive been getting mixed answers on this, and im having a hard time choosing a ideal place for a studio.

A storefront or some other obvious commercial setting would be the easiest for a "cold contact." A home studio would be okay if the photographer has an established reputation or I have been referred by a friend. I wouldn't go into something like a warehouse or anything that looks like it could be a shady operation.
