We'd have been on the moon centuries ago, instead of just 40 years back. By the time we got the ancient Greek writings back from the Arabs, centuries had passed. Think of the technological advances we could have made in that time!

depends on if they had an Industrial revolution. I would think we'd be further along

Dark Ages in Europe?
por jesuscristo: perhaps you need to read up on history to see the relationship between Christianity and the Dark Ages
warrior poo: I figured someone would mention that, but if you had the choice of having 20 people working on the Apollo mission, or 40, which do you think would advance the programme faster?

Good question. I donlt know for usre but certainly more advanced. There was a lot or social expermintation in the Dark Ages and I wonder how this contributed to our overall development - people explored the options.

I;m more interested in how far eveolved we would be as a sociatey if war did not exists. On the one hand the finances would have been spent elsewhere on beneficial things and encouraged more trade and on the other some of the greatest scientific breakthroughs have occurred during wartime (necessity being the mother of invention and all that)

I'm also curious as to whether we would be more or less socially/technologically developed without organised relgion. I really don't know the answer to that.

"Mr. Sulu, plot a course for Ceti Alpha Six at warp-factor nine."
"Why so fast, Captain?"
"Because I have to do another commercial for Priceline!"
