It's pretty much impossible to watch certain movies on certain sites without signing in or filling out a survey. It's their form of making you pay for the film, instead of getting it completely free. After all, bandwidth cost money. This is a possible reason you see lots of broken links on many sites, since people are abusing the ability to watch movies online. People want to download them, which is why most site stick a "cookie" into your computer to log your IP address.
