Before morse code and early telephones, how did pre-Victorians call for their carriages?
I thinking about the people who lived in the townhouses or cities. Were their carriages always kept nearby, or was there a servant sent out, or...?
I say edwardians because I imagine the victorians made good use of their morse code and early telephones....
