Where were the 1098's.

Just back from four weeks in Europe which included Moto GP at Mugello and was really dissapointed not to have seen any 1098's. Only saw two 999's and a few older 750's. What is going on over there? Must admit those scooter riders ( male and female) in Rome know how to get through traffic. It just dosn't stop with lane splitting, they ride over the sidewalk and play chicken with the cars! Jeeeze.

We spent April in Paris, and only say one 1098, a Tri color parked at a Cafe, and one at Paris Ducati. A $hit load of Monsters and SS.

The prices of them over there are what makes them scarse. I saw like 5 of them parked outside the Ducati only parking at the factory. And one on the highway on the way to the factory.

Riding in Europe, big cities, doesn't compare to the adventures one can find riding South America and especially Asia! In Sao Paolo ten motorcycle couriers are killed daily. In Bangkok one just stands on a street mesmorized with the death defying antics. Just returned from Santiago and four days riding Chile-- crazy but survivable.

FWIW, have yet to see a 1098 on the road in Colorado.

I just got back from Motogp at Barcelona and saw several 1098s at the race. Mind you, only a few in a sea of thousands, but they were there.

BTW, there was a 1098 on display in the Bridgestone tent. People lined up and waited 15 minutes in the heat just for a chance to walk by, see, photograph, and ogle it! Reminded me how lucky we all are to own such a rare magnificent bike.
